Job Title:Senior House Cook Ridgefield Congregate Housing
Location:Ridgefield CT
Hours & Pay:
- 8:30 AM 2:30 PM daily
- One or two days off per week (to be discussed)
- $20 per hour
About the Role:
Winfield Street Coffee is seeking a dependable and skilled cook to join our team at Ridgefield Congregate Housing. This role involves preparing and serving daily lunch for approximately 25 senior residents. The ideal candidate is experienced in cooking for groups understands dietary needs for older adults and is personable with a focus on excellent service.
Responsibilities:
- Execute and serve daily lunch meals according to our rotating menu.
- Ensure all food meets texture and dietary requirements for seniors.
- Prepare sides drinks coffee and dessert for service.
- Serve meals during lunch hour (11:30 AM 1:00 PM) including plating and delivering to residents as needed.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and follow food safety standards.
- Communicate with management about menu needs inventory and resident feedback.
Requirements:
- Proven cooking experience preferably in senior living schools or healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of geriatric-friendly meal preparation (soft foods diabetic-friendly etc.).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Friendly patient and respectful when interacting with seniors.
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
