Case Mix: Minor complaint patients laceration repairs I&Ds; attending sees critically ill STEMI/stroke patients

Trauma Level: Stroke-certified facility
EMR System: Cerner
Specialty Backup Available: Neurology Cardiology (with cath lab) OBGYN Ortho Endo Plastics GI CT surgery Hem/Onc Intensivist Nephrology Neurosurgery Pediatric Hospitalist Vascular Thoracic Crisis Counselors (24/7)
Support Staff Available: Attending physician present at night

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Travel: Mileage parking rental car ground transport lodging covered
Lodging Cap: $150/night
Rental Car Cap: $50/day (Apr Nov) $75/day (Dec Mar for 4WD SUV)

Minor procedures (e.g. laceration repair I&D)
Invasive procedures not required (e.g. central lines intubation)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Licenses: Active PA license required
Board: Board Certified
DEA: Not required
Certifications: ACLS BLS PALS (must be through AHA or Red Cross) Stroke Certified
Experience: Minimum 2 years Emergency Department experience
Other Qualifications:
NIHSS and Stroke CME annually
EMTALA education annually
Must be local enough to drive in
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide primarily night shift coverage (4 6 shifts/month)
Evaluate and treat low-acuity ED patients
Perform minor procedures such as laceration repairs and I&Ds
Support radiology and lab follow-up as needed
Collaborate with attending physicians for higher acuity care
Document all patient care in Cerner EMR
