JOB SUMMARY
Performs a variety of technical and administrative tasks related to Career Technology Education (CTE). Involves semi-professional tasks in support of the operation of a successful CTE school. Work involves assisting with: students managing school recertification process (NATEF ACF and GNA); establishing and maintaining Program Advisor Committee (PAC) members; preparing for PAC meetings; organizing and administering student certification tests surveys; proper set up demonstration and maintenance of shops/machines/tools/equipment; and performing other various clerical and related logistic tasks as assigned. Must exhibit exemplary customer service coordinate multiple deadlines have strong computer skills in various applications as well as gain and maintain a broad based knowledge of CTE.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and demonstrates the proper operation and use of a wide variety of hand and power tools (saws sanders drill press jig saw brake lathe etc.) during the course of developing work samples.
  • Adheres to all the safety guidelines outlined in the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Act.
  • Collaboratively works with professional staff to identify area requirements and deadlines.
  • Clearly communicates with internal and external stakeholders throughout the departmental processes; Responds to requests pertaining to the processes and programs.
  • Reviews documentation and provides feedback and suggestions for revision as needed to the appropriate offices.
  • Assists teachers with the set up and implementation of technological tools including but not limited to: Laptops Chrome books LCD projectors Performance Matters Unify and other subject specific technology.
  • Maintains Safety Data Sheets (SDS) equipment/tool and technological inventories.
  • Organizes certification tests throughout the school (NATEF NCCER ServSafe CNA/GNA/CCMA etc.)
  • Works directly with students individually or in small groups to implement instructional programs plans and activities.
  • Monitors students academic progress uses intervention techniques to ensure students engagement.
  • Documents student progress regarding goals and objectives.
  • Provides class coverage and telephone support to professional staff.
  • Assists with planning and scheduling of events (i.e. SkillsUSA competitions Harvest of the Hungry and Blood Drives)
  • Participates in professional development and in-service sessions
  • Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Associates Degree required. or
  • or its equivalency (62 semester hours).
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge skills and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the applicant to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Experience

  • Four (4) years of educational experience with two years of direct experience in any related CTE area required;

  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment handling multiple assignments and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency with business software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite-Word Excel Outlook and/or PowerPoint preferred).
  • Satisfactory score of any test required.
