Position at Danbury Hospital

RN Nurse Specialist Electrophysiology Device position in the Arrythmia Service department in Danbury CT

Full time 40 hours per week Monday-Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM.

Summary:

Provides direct patient care and operation support to the electrophysiology services. Works with electrophysiology patients implanted devices to assess appropriate functionality for optimal clinical therapy. Supports the electrophysiology operational activities around procedural activities and clinical management of the Arrythmia clinic functions.

Responsibilities:

1. Performs routine device interrogations for pacemakers ICDs CRT-P and CRT-P devices along with implantable loop recorders. Communicate findings to clinician partners.

2. Assists with device programming adjustments under physician supervision.

3. Maintains accurate device records and documentation in electronic health records.

4. Coordinates device follow-up schedules and ensure timely patient compliance. Schedule and coordinate device clinic appointments and follow-ups.

5. Provides patient education regarding device function lifestyle modifications and arrhythmia management.

6. Supports family members and caregivers with device related questions.

7. Coordinates preprocedural work-up including preop instructions imaging studies blood work and anticoagulation management.

8. Provides telephone triage for device related patient concerns.

9. Coordinates care with other specialties including but not limited to all aspects of Cardiology as well as other clinical services.

10. Works in partnership with EP device manufacturers representatives on device updates and recalls and specific patient care issues.

11. Assists with accurate documentation related to patient billing.

12. Partners with other cardiology nursing groups to educate on electrophysiology clinical medicine.

13. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

14. Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Values.

15. Demonstrates regular reliable and predictable attendance.

16. Performs other duties as required.

Required:
CT Registered Nurse
Minimum 3 years experience as RN
Desired: BSN
Associates level degree
