Job Description

THIS ROLE IS 100% ONSITE AT LOCATION ON REQ

12/31 HARD-SET END DATE TO START: WITH POTENTIAL TO BE EXTENDED DEPENDING ON BUSINESS NEEDS AND PERFORMANCE

Schedule: M-F 630-5(1 hour non-billable lunch) avg 8 hours with flex depending on businesss needs

MOST IMPORTANT SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Work with engineering operations and equipment vendors for design and commissioning activities

- Conduct Equipment Safety Buyoffs with a cross-functional team
- Complete Risk Assessments in accordance with ISO 12100 and Rivian standards

In this role you will be involved with the design and specifications for new machinery and equipment for Engineering & Manufacturing sites. You will also be an active participant in equipment acceptance testing and commissioning as well as evaluating proposed changes to equipment and machinery for safety requirements.

- Work with engineering operations and equipment vendors for design and commissioning activities

- Develop equipment safety standards where needed and continuously improve existing standards

- Complete Risk Assessments in accordance with ISO 12100 and Rivian standards

- Conduct Equipment Safety Buyoffs with a cross-functional team

- Identify safety opportunities and suggest corrective actions for continuous improvement

- Create and deliver training related to equipment and machinery safety

- Maintain detailed records of equipment compliance

- Work with department EHS staff to support as needed

- Participate in learning teams investigations inspections audits etc. as needed

- Demonstrated familiarity with mechanical electrical automation and control system design

- Experience with ANSI UL NFPA ISO and other applicable standards

- Experience interpreting electrical pneumatic and hydraulic safety circuits and evaluating performance level & circuit structure

- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical circuit design in accordance with NEC UL 508a and NFPA 79

Preferred

- Certified Functional Safety Professional CFSP/CFSE

- Certified Machine Safety Expert

- Experience in Battery/EV Manufacturing

- Experience with national Standards Development (ULNFPAANSI)

- Working knowledge of hazardous area classifications occupancy classification hazardous material inventories
