Duties:
- Plan prepare and cook daily meals in accordance with dietary plans and nutritional guidelines.
- Ensure all meals are served on time and presented attractively.
- Accommodate specific dietary needs including allergies medical conditions and special diets.
- Ensure compliance with the Company Food Safety Management System and maintain a safe kitchen.
- Manage inventory order supplies and monitor stock levels.
- Record and document food temperatures cleaning schedules and dietary compliance
- Support with menu planning incorporating residents preferences and nutritional needs.
- Assist with kitchen cleaning waste disposal and equipment maintenance.
- Work collaboratively with care staff to ensure residents dietary requirements are met.
- Promote a positive dining experience for residents.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook ideally in a care home healthcare or similar setting
- Knowledge of nutrition dietary requirements and food safety standards
- Ability to prepare wholesome balanced meals suitable for elderly or vulnerable residents
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Friendly caring and attentive to residents needs
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
Essential Requirements
- Trained in Puree and Allergen Management
- Professional Chef qualification and relevant experience
- Familiarity with IDDSI standards
- Experience preparing modified diets
- Hold a valid Food Hygiene Certificate
- Awareness of hazard reporting procedures
- Experience maintaining HACCP documentation
