Position Summary:The Facility Administrator is responsible for managing and overseeing all day-to-day operations of Caminars Willow Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC). Willow House is a 16-bed rehabilitation facility in Redwood City CA that supports residents of San Mateo County who are living with serious mental illness. The program of care focuses on improving symptom management strengthening skill development and promoting restoration of effective and independent functioning. The person in this role will be required to be present each day (9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday Friday) at the Willow facility in Redwood City.
The Facility Administrator is a member of the regional leadership team and is also responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures that contribute to the overall success of the Willow MHRC program. The Administratoracts as a liaison with state and county agencies program funders and other community stakeholders to ensure stable financial performance and effective delivery of program services. The Facility Administrator directly supervises the cross-disciplinary Willow MHRC leadership team.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
- Manage the overall operational budgetary and financial responsibilities and activities of the Willow MHRC program.
- Ensure that all program activities and facility operations are fully compliant with all regulations and partner with other Caminar teams (e.g. Agency Operations and Quality Management) to ensure continuous improvement of processes.
- . Ensure the ongoing excellence of care quality and cultural competence of the program providing services and supports in accordance with the principles of social rehabilitation and client-centered recovery.
- Oversee program staffing including the recruitment and training of facility and program staff and performance management and evaluation of all staff. Ensure adequate staffing so that all program components are delivered and client objectives are consistently achieved. . Continually look for ways to improve the program and its services and devise and implement quality improvement plans.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws regulations policies and procedures of the State departments of social service and mental health Community Care Licensing the County of San Mateo Mental Health Department and the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Regularly participate in program reviews conducted by regulatory entities.
- Partner with the Director of Residential and the Executive Director of Caminars SMI service line to create annual budgets. Review financial performance of the program on at least a monthly basis and engage in course correction as needed to ensure the financial viability of the MHRC program. .
- Establish and maintain relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor the operation of the program.
- Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the program. Prepare periodic reports for Caminars Corporate Leadership team as necessary or requested to track strategic goal accomplishment.
- Serve as Safety Administrator ensuring a safe healthy and clean working environment consistent with applicable laws industry standards and the agencys internal Health & Safety Program.
- Coach mentor and develop the Willow MHRC Leadership team including overseeing new manager on-boarding and providing career development opportunities.
- Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organization and that emphasizes the shared mission vision guiding principles and values of the agency.
- Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition rewards and disciplinary action with the assistance of Human Resources when necessary.
- Oversee management work schedules including special assignments on-call rotation training vacations and paid time off remote work guidelines coverage for absences and overtime scheduling.
- Drive own or agency vehicle to treatment destinations as required; documenting and reporting mileage according to agency procedures so that services can be provided in a timely manner; always comply with agency vehicle policy.
- Perform other related duties responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Masters degree in a social service area and active CA BBS licensure are required.
- Personal qualities of integrity credibility and commitment to the mission of Caminar.
- A minimum of three years of leadership experience overseeing mental health and/or social service programs for individuals living with serious mental illness. i
- Strong operational experience: ideally has worked in a management role for 5 years in a for profit or nonprofit behavioral health organization with progressive experience leading to at least three years experience in operational/administrative management.
- At least 3 years of people management experience in a behavioral health setting. Experience directly supervising both clinical and nonclinical program leadership strongly preferred
- Knowledge and experience in business administration clinical supervision and clinical program operations management. Demonstrated experience effectively leading site and program operations for inpatient behavior health programs is required.
Position Requirements:
- Physical: Occasionally required to push/pull objects up to 50 lbs. and to lift/carry objects up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to perform moderately difficult manipulative tasks such as typing writing etc. Must be able to walk stand and sit for extended periods.
- Sensory: Frequently required to read documents written reports and plans. Must be able to distinguish normal sounds with some background noise as in answering the phone interacting with residents and staff etc. Must be able to speak clearly and understand/be understood using the English language.
- Cognitive: Frequently required to concentrate on moderate detail with constant interruption. Must be able to attend a task/function for 20-45 minutes at a time. Frequently required to understand and relate to specific ideas several at a time. Must be able to remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others over a period of several days.
- Environmental Conditions: Frequent exposure to varied office and mixed (residential/office) environments. Occasional exposure to toxins and poisonous substances dust and loud noises.
- Equipment: Frequently required to use a computer phone and fax machine.
Essential Requirements:
- Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance as required by Title XXII other licensing regulations and Caminar practices.
- This position may require limited occasional or frequent driving. If required a valid California driver license a reliable personal vehicle and current personal auto insurance is required by addition an MVR sufficient to obtain and maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies are all essential job requirements.
- Must be able to pass post offer pre-employment medical and drug tests as required under State Community Care Licensing regulations and/or agency policies.
- If applicable a personal cell phone with reliable service and a data plan to use for business purposes.
- May be required to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
