Requirements:Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Certification in MathematicsA minimum of (5) five years of successful teaching/leadership experience preferredTraining/Experience as an Instructional CoachKnowledge of current Mathematics Curriculum Framework including the Standards for Mathematical PracticeThorough knowledge of research-informed mathematics teaching and assessment practices Exceptional communication listening and collaboration skills and proven ability to build professional relationships with teachers Understanding of effective professional development and coaching strategies targeted to accelerate learning for all students Grant writing and procurement/purchasing experience preferredPerformance Expectations:The goal of the Math Coach is to work with teachers principals and other district leaders to actualize the district vision of excellence in mathematics instruction and learning for all students. Our Math Coach works with teachers to improve student achievement and increase instructional capacity. General Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to promote and enhance math instruction and experiences for all studentsAssist teachers in developing strategies to meet the range of individual student needsConsult with classroom teachers regarding instructional materials/softwareCollaborate with teachers to analyze data plan and determine instructional interventionsOrganize/facilitate the district Instructional Support Team (IST)Collaborate between levels to align mathematics strategies and curriculumProvide leadership in refining the quality of classroom instruction in mathematics. Includes observing instruction providing feedback modeling/co-teaching lessons sharing instructional strategies and facilitating pre and post-lesson conferencesCollaborate with Principals on school-wide professional development curriculum and assessment initiativesConsult with school staff regarding data and test analysis and use outcomes to make strategic academic decisionsAssist in school-based professional learning (e.g. PLCs faculty meetings study groups) that support the needs of teachersAdminister required student testing and assessments as neededSupport teacher and principal communication with families about the teaching and learning of mathematics and relevant assessment/progress monitoring Pursue and manage grant opportunities to secure funding for resources and trainingPerform other duties and obligations as assigned by the principal Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent of SchoolsDistrict responsibilities include:Collaborate with Assistant Superintendent Director of Student Services and Curriculum Directors on district-wide curriculum and assessment initiativesCreate and facilitate professional development opportunities based on identified priority areasParticipation in professional networks (DESE networks BAMS SSMC)Will participate as an expert resource for curricu
