The Product Development Team at Southeast Toyota is responsible for the planning research design and development of processes order to create new products and procedures that drive superior customer experiences improve upon the manufacturers product line and accelerate retail velocity.
The Supplier Quality Engineer will coordinate aspects of accessory product quality (supplier corrective action report vehicle level FMEAs DVPs) and provide support to VPC installation operations to improve efficiency effectiveness and reporting especially for higher-risk operations.
Responsibilities:
Fulfill quality related deliverables for new product launches for automotive products .
Plan organize and implement preventive actions in projects in accordance with the customer requirement and business unit requirements.
Communicate with customers for Quality related issues and transfer the customer requirements/information to all SET members.
Coordinate and lead Quality relevant activities in the program.
Update and maintain quality relevant documents.
Participate in workgroups (e.g. FMEA PSMC etc.) to ensure quality input.
Communicate with all relevant departments (e.g. SET Engineering Supplier Quality etc.) and therefore the responsibility to coordinate corrective actions in case of product deviations.
Regular reporting of the APQP Status in the program including customer specific reports.
Coordinate all program relevant APQP activities at the supplier base (external) executed by the Supplier Quality organization and continue communication with SET team members and Customer. Interface Supplier Quality / SET / Customer.
Operate as liaison between company and third-party manufacturers to ensure all products are manufactured following good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and quality products are released and available to meet customer needs.
Qualifications:
BS in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering plus 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer responsible for ensuring the quality aspects of new product launches in the automotive interiors industry.
3 years of experience FMVSS safety regulatory and customer satisfaction recall and campaign procedures.
3 years of experience TIS (Toyota Information System) and Toyota specific quality development tools.
3 years of manufacturing control related work.
3 years advanced Product Quality Planning or similar automotive quality management processes.
Working knowledge of Excel Word and PowerPoint for presentations and reports.
Excellent communication skills to communicate technical information and development status with external and internal customers.
Must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational time management prioritizing and follow-up skills.
Demonstrate problem solving project management skills and works well independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work well in a fast paced environment with changing priorities/deadlines and demonstrate a strong drive for results.
Must be responsive to requests and have the ability to partner within and across departments to complete tasks.
