Job Description
Playtika is looking for a skilled and motivated DBA to join our global Data Infrastructure this role youll be responsible for the reliability performance and operational excellence of the databases that power our live game studios across multiple regions and time zones. Youll work with a diverse set of database technologies in a highly distributed high-scale environment.
This is a hands-on mid-senior level position ideal for someone with solid operational DBA experience who enjoys solving complex problems and is passionate about improving database performance and reliability at scale.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain production-grade relational and columnar databases across global game studio environments
- Optimize performance and ensure high availability for mission-critical PostgreSQL instances
- Support and troubleshoot MariaDB and SingleStore deployments (experience is a plus)
- Handle database provisioning schema management and tuning for OLTP and analytical workloads
- Write review and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures
- Collaborate with development DevOps and data engineering teams on design monitoring and scaling database systems
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response as part of a global team
- Contribute to automation and standardization of DBA tasks where possible
Requirements:
- 35 years of experience as a production DBA preferably in a 24/7 global environment
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL must-have
- Experience working with MariaDB and/or SingleStore strong advantages
- Deep knowledge of SQL including performance tuning query optimization and execution plan analysis
- Solid understanding of replication failover strategies and backup/recovery processes
- Familiarity with Linux-based environments and scripting for automation
- Experience working with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g. Prometheus Grafana or similar)
- Work with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks for automated database provisioning (Terraform Ansible or similar) a plus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
