Job Title: Electrician Technician (FBI-CRC)
Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a 1st shift (6:am - 2:30pm) Electrician Technician at our General Services Administration (GSA) Operations Maintenance Custodial and Related Services FBI Central Records Complex (CRC) contract in Winchester VA.
The Electrician will be responsible for performing a wide range of electrical duties to support the operations and maintenance of government facilities. This includes installation maintenance troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems equipment and components
The Electrician must hold or be able to obtain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with the Operations Manager to determine service and preventative maintenance needs.
- Coordinate escort and supervise EGS sub-contractors while performing work on site.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with relevant codes safety regulations and contract specifications.
- Install maintain troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring conduits fixtures equipment and systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Identify and correct electrical problems and hazards.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring equipment and fixtures using testing devices such as megohmmeters and multi-meters.
- Utilize PCs to log equipment readings performance and diagnose issues.
- Perform daily equipment tours and log equipment data.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed materials used and inspections.
- Respond to emergency electrical calls and complete repairs in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures including Lockout/Tagout.
- Collaborate with other trades to perform preventative maintenance and repairs including but not limited to: HVAC plumbing life safety physical security and general maintenance.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Must possess an active TOP SECRET Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain.
- Must possess a current VA Journeyman Electrician License or meet the qualification requirements of the American National Standards Institute/International Electrical Testing Association ETT-2015 Standard for Certification of Electrical Testing Technicians and hold at least a Level 3 or 4.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial or government facilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia (VA) Master Electrician License.
- NICET Level II Fire Alarm Certification.
- Experience working on government Operations and Maintenance contracts or in a government facility environment.
- Experience with building management systems (BMS).
Physical Demands:
- Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 75 lbs.)
- Prolong extensive or considerable standing/walking.
- Push/pull or move/lift equipment supplies.
- Manual dexterity and mobility.
- Considerable reaching stooping bending kneeling and crouching.
