Downtown Projects and Investments
What will you do
Oversee the development implementation tracking and evaluation of comprehensive economic and residential development marketing and communications strategies for opportunities in the downtown core. Specific focus will be on the Citys Community Revitalization Levy areas in the Downtown and the Quarters
Develop communications and marketing tools and tactics that meet business goals and objectives while promoting and enhancing the City and Departments image brand and reputation
Provide strategic advice and guidance to program leads on marketing communications and brand strategy and plans messaging tactics and challenges
Manage project timelines and budget
Measure project success based on identified benchmarks and metrics
Support and seek out opportunities to advance the reputation of the project and the City locally and nationally
Identify emerging trends and issues and proactively recommend marketing strategies that reflect the needs of target markets and meet business objectives
Research and prepare a variety of reports related to the evaluation of marketing strategies tools and tactics
Coordinate and lead high-performing communications and marketing professionals to produce excellent work for business partners and the people of Edmonton
Bachelors Degree in Marketing Real Estate Planning Communications Business or related field with a focus on real estate development marketing and communications
Four years of progressively responsible experience in real estate or planning with strong marketing and communication work inclusive of one year related experience in economic or industrial development marketing brand and reputation marketing
Assets:
Accreditation in the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA) International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) or Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) would be an asset
Skills required for success:
Solid experience in developing implementing and evaluating tactical marketing and communication plans brand plans brand marketing campaigns and/or corporate marketing programs
Experience working with executive leadership or elected officials as well as experience on high profile projects or initiatives would be an asset.
Experience working with elected officials and senior leadership on high profile projects or initiatives
Experience in brand journalism reputation management experiential marketing content marketing digital marketing and vendor management is an asset
Exceptional consulting and relationship building skills with demonstrated experience in mentoring or providing leadership advice
Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the abilities to present new ideas effectively to teams and leadership and write content for various audiences and channels
Strong knowledge in both traditional and new marketing and communications mediums; strong social media skills
Ability to draw insight from marketing research (qualitative and quantitative) to identify gaps and develop plans for capturing opportunities
Ability to share and adopt innovative approaches and conceptualize solutions
Ability to self motivate and work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
Team experience working in a business environment or a large complex organization

Work Environment:
Note: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52
The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance
Availability to network during the evening or weekends may be required from time to time

Salary: $51.483- $64.564 (Hourly); $90700.18 - $113745.63 (Annually)
