VICE PRESIDENT OF COMPLIANCE
The Company
An established and fully accredited community-based not-for-profit healthcare provider of high-quality compassionate care for the elderly and frail individuals with aging serious illness or grief challenges. These services include hospice and palliative care grief support and the PACE program. HopeWest began serving Western Colorado 30 years ago and today serves a 10000-square-mile radius including Grand Junction Delta Montrose Ouray Plateau Valley DeBeque Mesa and Rifle.
Scope of the Job
The Vice President of Compliance will report to the President and CEO and will be based in Grand Junction Colorado. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and managing the organizations compliance programs. This includes ensuring adherence to all applicable laws regulations and internal policies. This VP will collaborate across departments to foster a culture of compliance and ethical integrity.
You will be expected to:
Lead and manage the Compliance Committee.
Develop and maintain contract templates and review non-routine contracts.
Oversee record release processes and review all legal requests (e.g. from courts or attorneys).
Provide oversight for hospice external audit and liaise with legal counsel as needed.
Participate in PACE audits and maintain compliance status with SMS and the State.
Coordinate response to section 1557 and other requirements that address discrimination and language accessibility for those we serve.
Address grievances involving discrimination Title VI or other legal concerns.
Conduct final review and approval of all consent and disclosure forms.
Manage and update the Notice of Privacy Practices.
Oversee the roles of the Privacy Officer and Security Officer; may serve as the Privacy Officer.
Lead corporate compliance efforts and report to the Board of Directors at least annually.
Support compliance activities related to PACE.
Collaborate on organizational responses to emergencies and pandemics.
Serve as a consultant to the PULSE group on compliance matters.
Participate in the Ethics Committee.
Oversee licensure processes with CDPHE.
Review subpoenas involving the organization or staff and consult with legal counsel.
Act as a consultant for required occurrence reporting.
Candidate Requirements
Healthcare executive with 6-10 years of progressive experience. Proven track record in a compliance leadership role preferably within the healthcare industry. A licensed registered nurse is highly preferred.
Healthcare executive who embraces the HopeWest mission purpose vision and values. Philanthropic-minded leader able to maintain and improve compliance standards resulting in sustainable care and services to the community.
Ability to serve as a respected leader with a solid background in healthcare policy procedure and compliance regulations for multiple divisions.
We seek a forward-thinking executive with the ability to stay at the forefront of healthcare regulatory and compliance changes.
Knowledge of the serious illness end-of-life and bereavement industry is desired. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded executive with compassion cultural sensitivity and a focus on diversity as well as a business-minded professional.
