Firstchance is a leading Early Childhood Intervention service supporting families across Newcastle Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens for the past 45 years. About the role

  • As a Paediatric Occupational Therapist at Firstchance youll be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Speech Pathologists Psychologists Physiotherapists Specialist Educators and Family Workers. Youll work alongside experienced colleagues and be supported by a skilled administration and finance team.
  • Your work will include:
  • Providing therapy to children aged 012 years and their families in community settings such as homes early childhood centres schools parks and pools.
  • Supporting children with a range of disabilities including autism developmental delay chromosomal disorders and genetic conditions.
  • Conducting assessments and delivering contextualised strengths based interventions that promote participation independence and wellbeing.
  • Collaborating with families to set goals and celebrate achievements.
  • Based at Mayfield and supporting families in the Newcastle Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens Region

Qualifications and experience

  • A Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • First Aid Certificate (including asthma and anaphylaxis)
  • A valid drivers licence and access to a reliable comprehensively insured vehicle
