The Lead Manufacturing Manager - Shipping/Receiving/Stockroom is responsible for managing stockroom operations inventory and material flow within a manufacturing environment. This role involves overseeing a team of salaried and hourly employees ensuring efficient shipping receiving and stockroom processes and coordinating the release of materials into production.
Success in this position requires strong leadership organizational and problem-solving abilities along with proven experience in warehouse and inventory management in a manufacturing setting.
Our Vandalia facility is located 50 minutes north of the GE Aerospace headquarters and sits just north of the city of Daytonknown widely as the birthplace of aviationwhere the Wright Brothers built the worlds first aircraft in their bicycle shop in the heart of downtown Dayton. This business boasts a rich history in operation for over 100 years. At over 140000 square feet the Vandalia facility rests on 27 acres right off Interstate 75.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ordering and maintaining stock levels for required expendable packaging materials and other services related to procurement and shipping of goods
- Accuracy of RAW inventory counts including lot/serialization and cycle count practices
- Storage and disbursement of material including chemicals
- Coordinating the management of short shelf-life material with a VMI system
- Lead and manage a team of salaried and hourly employees in shipping receiving and stockroom operations
- Direct warehouse operations to receive classify and stock incoming goods
- This includes ERP updating managing stocking strategy completing work order picks in a timely manner and processing dispositioned material
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for all team members
- Work in a cross-functional team to support production operations identify issues and implement corrective action/sustainable solutions
- The role requires a strong focus on safety quality delivery and cost (SQDC) with safety being the top priority
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with at least 10 years of experience in manufacturing leadership and/or material management)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing and/or distribution logistics or warehousing
- A minimum of 3 years of direct people leadership experience
Addition Information
- This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
- This role will sit onsite at the Vandalia OH facility
- This is a first shift position with a start time of 6-7:00am eastern (the start time for this role will vary based on production needs)
- Ability and willingness to sit onsite at the facility 5 days per week (no remote or hybrid option)
Desired Characteristics
- Familiarity with DO/DX rated military orders packaging requirements customer portal requirements and ASNs
- Familiarity with INCO terms and general material movement/logistics principles and practices
- Experience with ERP (Oracle R12 preferred) and understanding of business KPIs around cost inventory and cash flow
- Strong sense of urgency and commitment to company and customer fulfillment of orders
- APICS Certification
- Ability to lead a team and influence others; strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to mentor and develop others technical skills and professional ability
- Ability to set priorities and execute schedule to achieve milestones/objectives
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience with GE Aerospaces FLIGHT DECK operating system or similar lean methodologies.
