Job Summary
The Transportation Associate aids in the coordinating and scheduling of safe transportation of our products regularly negotiating with and auditing carriers and communicating with suppliers.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Coordination with Outbound Trucks and Small Package teams to ensure timely accurate shipment
- Freight method confirmation with Sales and Order Management (including revenue driving PPA opportunities)
- Monitoring SEA inbound shipments through the emailprotected email
- Making sure Data between Piyovi (TMS) and Rubicon (ERP) is accurate
- Freight invoice auditing discrepancy resolutions and payment approvals
- Filing and tracking shipment claims including video and packaging research
- Managing carrier relationships and rate negotiations
- Export control and employee training
- Cross-team communication and report generation
- Implementation of shipping process improvements /Local shipments
- Packaging standards across shipping commodities and cost savings
- Freight shipment entry into Piyovi and customer systems
- Freight shipment entry into Piyovi and customer systems
- Communication with Sales and Freight Forwarders
- Preparation of international documents (SLI/SEDs)
- Packaging and damage prevention standards
- Transitioning current collect customers to PPA (Prepay and Add)
- Ongoing projects with automation and proactive shipping strategies
Qualifications and Skills- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelors degree in transportation management logistics project management or similar preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal collaboration skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to effectively interact with a variety of personnel at all organizational levels
Physical Requirements- Ability to squat bend and lift. Can lift 5-15 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to lift files open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary
