The Field Services Section exists to address for the public governmental entities the regulated community and the Department technical and regulatory issues primarily related to compliance assistance and compliance assurance for drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities (and other discharging facilities) including the following activities: compliance evaluation inspections and sanitary surveys; technical and compliance assistance; regulation and policy development and provision of technical services in support of the Water Quality Control Divisions (Division) programs to provide financial assistance for drinking water and wastewater treatment facility construction.
Position Description
Working in central Colorado this position exists to perform track and assist in managing to completion a broad array of tasks associated with planning and coordinating sanitary surveys at community and non-community suppliers in the Field Unit II region. Major elements of position responsibilities include providing assistance to the public providing compliance assistance to facilities and individuals regulated by the Division and taking action to assure regulatory compliance by regulated entities through field investigations and direct contact with the public and regulated community. Additionally the position will work closely with other FSS staff who conduct sanitary surveys. The position involves work in the field of environmental science requiring the independent selection of courses of action and the resolution of problems within a broad framework of environmental and administrative guidelines.
Positions in this level learn the procedures regulations policies and statutes associated with field based compliance work. Either as a team member or under the direction of a supervisor or work leader positions perform technical field work that consists of evaluations of treatment facility operations and performance compliance inspections for drinking water treatment facilities field response and support of drinking water emergencies. Under the direct supervision of a work leader or manager positions may provide support for enforcement and other technical field-based compliance assurance activities and provide assistance to the public and facilities regulated by the Division. This position is in Field Unit 2 located in the Salida office.
