What you will be doing
The Dreadnought Fluid Systems teams are responsible for creating key safety design build commissioning and operational documentation for the next generation of the UKs Ballistic Submarines Nuclear Steam Raising Plant. The team work closely with the Ministry of Defence third party partners The Royal Navy BAE Systems and Babcock Marine as well as the Rolls-Royce Devonport Clyde and Barrow Satellite Site office teams. The role of a Fluid Systems Engineer (FSE) is integrating individual components into a reliable and functional system therefore we often we act as an integrator combining the deep technical knowledge of different disciplines to form a well-balanced justification for build commissioning and operation of the submarine.

Be qualified to at least degree level in a relevant (engineering) discipline.
Understand nuclear safety case methods principles structures and
management processes.
Understand Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics to aid in basic analytical
problem solving.
Have had previous experience with requirements capture and basic task
planning.
Confidently and pro-actively engage within internal and externals
stakeholders.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individualswho are a UK national or in MoD approved cases a dual national.
