Job Description
Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Phnom Penh Cambodia
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: US$2000-$3000
Purpose Statement
You will lead the mechanical (and collaborate on electrical) design for our high-rise residential and hotel projects ensuring systems are efficient code-compliant and seamlessly integrated with architectural and structural elements.
Key Responsibilities
-
Develop detailed mechanical system designs (HVAC plumbing fire-fighting) and coordinate electrical layouts in Revit or AutoCAD
-
Produce equipment schedules system layouts and design calculations (load-calculations pressure-drop duct-sizing)

Prepare design drawings specifications and technical submittals for client and authority approvals
-
Coordinate with architects structural engineers MEP teammates and contractors to resolve clashes and optimize layouts
-
Perform value-engineering studies to balance performance cost and sustainability
-
Review shop drawings and contractor submittals for compliance with design intent
-
Conduct site visits to inspect installations verify dimensions and support commissioning activities

Ensure all designs comply with Cambodian codes international standards (ASHRAE NFPA) and client requirements

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
Qualifications & Experience
-
510 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design with additional exposure to electrical design
-
Proven track record on high-rise residential or hotel projects
-
Proficiency in Revit MEP AutoCAD MEP or equivalent BIM platforms
-
Strong grasp of HVAC load calculations ductwork and piping design and equipment selection
-
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
