You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailUnder general supervision performs a variety of skilled and specialized work activities in the operation of a recreational. historic or natural resource park; interprets natural features of the area including those associated with water based recreation; and ensures public safety by enforcing Park rules and regulations.
Programmatic:
- Maintains park to include cleaning landscaping with a variety of equipment and hand tools according to ASPT standards. This includes a focus on the River Island OHV Trailhead as well as Buckskin Mountain and River Island State Parks.
- Coordinates safety and compliance efforts for outdoor recreation with a focus on Off-Highway Vehicles; Provides Information in response to visitor questions direction. guidance and concerns.
Public Contact & Outreach:
- Represent ASPT to groups and individuals including the daily operations of a park Contact
Station. Develop and construct interpretive signage. This position will also include but not limited to travel from time to time to support the Agency OHV outreach program. Also serves as ASPT liaison for local OHV groups.
Customer Service:
- Provides customer service by phone and in-person and respond to publics inquiries about park hours accommodations reservations in park Contact Stations.
Reporting:
- Records and completes all necessary reports for park operations grants and OHV initiatives.
Cash Handling:
- Maintains accurate transactions and accounting within established ASPT protocols and standards.
May lead and assist in training subordinate staff and/or volunteers.
Knowledge of:
- Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
Knowledge of OHV safety and operations including trails and equipment; Park rules fees and revenue functions; Park standards for safety and maintenance and general resources to visitors; general office procedures.
Skill in:
- Public relations and information dissemination; active listening; service orientation; critical
thinking; driving and operating automotive and boating equipment; basic computer operation familiarity with GPS coordination.
Ability to:
Providing skilled operation maintenance and repair of OHVs and equipment; first aid techniques; oral and written communications; interpersonal relationships.
Two years experience in park operations public programs public events customer service outdoor recreation park management
OR a Bachelors degree in Park Management Forestry Natural Resource Management or a closely related field. Any combination of training and experience that meet knowledge skills and abilities may be substituted.
Must possess and maintain a current Arizona Drivers license appropriate to assignment. Require certification verifying completion of OHV Safety program within 6 months of hire.
