Job Description

The Material Flow Optimization (MFO) team is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented Operations Engineers to lead MFO Process initiatives in developing and delivering next generation world-class sortation and transportation systems. This position will have an impact on both design and process design engineering for the North America Sort Centers (NASC).

In this role you will collaborate with stakeholder teams and develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems. Your projects will be a variety of template-based and designed-from-scratch along with ownership of Process Designs end to end complimenting each Design.

You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. You will be challenged; you will learn; you will work on high impact high visibility projects; you will grow.

Key job responsibilities
- Coordinate efforts to develop optimal solutions and processes for the sortation and transportation network through material flow process design site layout and intellectual property considerations.
- Collaboration with internal teams to generate high-quality cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing negotiating and communicating with business partners and operators.
- Effective communication skills ability to execute the vision detailed roadmap and specific technical solutions.
- Travel 50% domestically although travel intensity can be variable.

- 4 years of industrial engineer operations engineer manufacturing engineer or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience
- Bachelors degree

- Knowledge of AutoCAD VBA and SQL at the intermediate level
- Experience working with Material handling equipment (MHE)
- Experience with Six Sigma lean manufacturing
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications (Excel PowerPoint Word Visio and MS Project) at an advanced level

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $126400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
