Azure/Cloud Data Architect

Methods Analytics (MA) is recruiting for an Azure/Cloud Data Architect to join our team a permanent basis.

This role will be mainly remote but require flexibility to travel to client sites and our offices based in London Sheffield and Bristol.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure Azure cloud architectures with a focus on data services and infrastructure.

• Architect and manage security technologies including:

1. Azure Defender Microsoft Sentinel Microsoft Purview
2. Azure Key Vault Entra ID (Azure AD) RBAC
3. NSGs firewalls private endpoints

• Define and implement cloud security strategies policies and patterns.

• Create and maintain technical documentation including runbooks and reference architectures.

• Integrate security practices into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps) using Azure DevOps.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure scalable data solutions.

• Hands-on experience with Azure-native security tools:

• Microsoft Defender for Cloud Azure Policy Azure Firewall Sentinel Key Vault

• Strong understanding of:

1. Identity and access management (e.g. Entra ID/Azure AD OAuth SAML MFA)
2. Network security and segmentation in Azure
3. Infrastructure as code (IaC): Terraform Bicep or ARM templates
4. Experience with Azure Data Factory (required).
5. Knowledge of Entra ID configuration (preferred).
6. Familiarity with SSIS is a plus.

This role will require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website . If you are unable to meet this and any associated criteria then your employment may be delayed or rejected . Details of this will be discussed with you at interview.
