- Bachelors Degree or higher in Civil Engineering with coursework in Transportation Engineering or Transportation Planning
- Membership with APEGA as Engineer-in-Training (EIT) and working towards a is a requirement. Applicants in a different Canadian jurisdiction eligible for Inter-Provincial Mobility (IPMA) with APEGA may be considered. Registration with APEGA must be obtained prior to commencement of employment.

Work Environment:
- This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52.

As a Mobility Project EIT you will be at the forefront of integrating transportation and land use planning to achieve goals outlined in the City Plan Edmontons combined municipal development plan and transportation master plan. You will play a key role in developing transportation policy and analyzing the citys mobility network. Working with a diverse team of professionals you will provide your engineering expertise to ensure that Edmontons growth is smart sustainable and serves all its citizens. This position requires a creative and analytical mind that can navigate the complexities of city-building and advocate for innovative mobility solutions. You will be a key contributor to The City Plan helping to shape a more connected and accessible Edmonton for generations to come!
What will you do:
Under the direct supervision of the Mobility Senior Engineer you will:
- Support the development of complex strategic engineering studies for the planning and assessment of the citys multi-modal transportation network
- Develop manage and analyze transportation network geospatial data and create network maps using ArcGIS
- Provide initial reviews of engineering design drawings and technical reports from a policy perspective
- Collect data set up models and interpret transportation demand model outputs from software like EMME Synchro or VISSIM
- Apply municipal provincial national and international engineering design guidelines and standards to your work
- Lead and manage smaller-scale mobility studies and tasks including preparing project charters budgets and schedules
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders managing consultant progress and approving deliverables
- Prepare engagement materials and facilitate engagement sessions
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other City departments consultants and stakeholder groups
- Assist in drafting council reports presentations and other official documents
- Represent the section and branch at meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Perform other related duties as assigned
