Job Functions:

The Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysist (BCaBA) participates in CREATE therapeutic programming within the early learning and therapeutic afterschool environments serving homeless children and families in our onsite housing programs. The BCaBAs primary objective on each team is to supervise implementation and design as well as monitor behavioral interventions for each child to not only ensure a calm and nurturing environment but create and contrive opportunities to learn practice and utilize vital skills under the supervision of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The BCaBA will be trained in ABA techniques and will train and supervise Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to implement behavior strategies at all sites. The BCaBA will work alongside the BCBA and additionally train all support staff and natural supports (such as family members and teachers) in the behavior interventions being used.


Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Implement group and individualized behavior intervention strategies under the supervision of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  2. Monitor client progress and document behavioral data accurately. Collect and analyze data communicating and making modifications to interventions as necessary.
  3. Collaborate with families caregivers and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  4. Provide training and support to staff and natural supports (such as teachers and caregivers) on best practices in behavioral therapy and applied behavior analysis techniques.
  5. Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills in working with at risk populations.
  6. Provide regular ongoing supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).
  7. Collaborate with families educators and other professionals to support clients development and learning goals.
  8. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment strategies.
  9. Implement evidence-based behavioral therapy interventions to address behavioral challenges and promote skill development.
  10. Meet personal goals and actively contribute to the achievement of the team and organizational targets/goals as stated in the KPIs and the strategic plan.

Documentation:

  1. Will monitor train and document the utilized supports for the client (such as family members and teachers).
  2. Will oversee documentation of services provided including descriptive notes outlining services provided client trends caregiver training and implementation of the behavioral plan and integration and monitoring of the other supports.
  3. Will oversee and conduct various assessments aligning with program outcomes with the Therapeutic Program Supervisor.
  4. Will make and document modifications under the direction of the BCBA only.
Requirements

Education and Experience:

Must have BS degree in a related field and BCaBA certification number. Certification must be kept up to date. Must be able to identify and resolve obstacles in a timely manner; gather and analyze data; develop alternative solutions; must work well in group problem-solving situations. Must always maintain confidentiality. Must write clearly and informatively; edit work for grammar and spelling and complete sentences; vary writing style to meet the needs of the agency/client; must be able to explain anything in reports in plain language to families. Must follow policies and procedures; complete tasks on time or notify the appropriate parties if a deadline will not be met; support the organizations goals and values. Direct experience working with children and parents is required. Bi-lingual preferred. Must complete 40-hour training complete examination and obtain 40-hour certification within 90 days (about 3 months) of hire.


Skills Requirements:

Must be able to work effectively with children and parents representing and communicating their status and progress to small groups and professionals within a network comprised of the Hillsborough County School District Pasco County School District Metropolitan Ministries service providers and applicable and related medical social service providers in the surrounding community. Must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team framework; strong interpersonal and supervisory skills; strong oral and written communications skills; dependability; demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences in clients served; ability to handle job-related matters in a professional diplomatic and confidential manner; willing to work with minimal supervision yet be able to accept direction; well organized and detail oriented. Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Access Word and Excel required.


Requires heart for ministry and comfort working with poor and homeless families and individuals. Requires understanding of poverty a high degree of maturity strong inter-personal skills and the ability to work with low socio-economic and diverse populations facing crisis situations in a professional and diplomatic manner. Knowledge of community resources available to homeless population. Must demonstrate maturity and sensitivity to issues of faith culture and other sources of diversity. Ability to work as part of a team within a multi-disciplinary framework.


Physical Requirements:

Hearing and speaking ability which allows for effective oral communication; physical and emotional stamina to effectively handle job related issues and stress.


Other:

Must pass applicable pre-employment screening and demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States. Must be available to work during normal after school hours and for evening meetings as required. Must pass required background pre-employment screening. Must have a valid drivers license and be able to transport self and clients when necessary.
