Job Description

Position Title: Senior Gas Engineer Fuels Department
Location: Homer City / Blairsville (Onsite / Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-Time/ Direct Hire

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Gas Engineer to lead critical technical and regulatory efforts for the Homer City Pipeline Project (HCPP). This role requires deep knowledge of natural gas infrastructure permitting and utility operations. The successful candidate will provide technical oversight drive project execution and serve as a key liaison between engineering permitting construction and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical lead on pipeline engineering tasks including route selection system design material specifications and compliance documentation.
  • Oversee and guide the preparation and submission of federal state and local permits ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers and EITs delegating tasks and supporting their technical development.
  • Coordinate directly with contractors consultants utility partners and permitting agencies to advance project milestones.
  • Lead technical reviews of design drawings construction plans and engineering submittals.
  • Participate in risk assessments constructability reviews and cost estimation.
  • Represent the engineering team in meetings with leadership regulatory bodies and community stakeholders.
  • Conduct and lead site visits inspections and field investigations as needed.
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables meet industry standards project specifications and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Civil or Energy Engineering (Masters preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
  • 8 years of experience in gas pipeline engineering utility infrastructure or related fields.
  • Proven success delivering gas pipeline projects through full project lifecycle from concept through commissioning.
  • Expertise in FERC DOT PHMSA and state level permitting and compliance.
  • Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD Bluebeam and pipeline modeling tools.
  • Strong leadership communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Prior experience with large-scale transmission or distribution line projects.
  • Knowledge of gas metering pressure regulation and SCADA systems.
  • Experience working with public utility commissions and energy project developers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-stakes deadline-driven environment.
