Job Description

6th Grade Football Coach

Lincoln Middle School

2025-2026 Season

LMS is seeking a 6th Grade Footballcoach for the 25/26 season. The Middle School Football Coach is responsible for leading and developing student-athletes in a competitive football program that promotes sportsmanship teamwork and character. The coach organizes and supervises all aspects of the football program including planning practices managing games and ensuring student-athlete safety and academic accountability.

The first day of practice will beAugust 18th and the season will run through the end of October and sometimes into November. Practice times will be from 3:15-5:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan organize and conduct effective practices that build fundamental football skills and game knowledge.

  • Instruct and mentor student-athletes in the rules strategies and sportsmanship of football.

  • Foster a positive inclusive and disciplined team environment that supports both athletic and personal growth.

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by following district policies and safety protocols.

  • Collaborate with assistant coaches athletic directors parents and school staff to support student-athletes.

  • Manage team equipment and uniforms responsibly.

  • Supervise athletes during practices games and team travel.

  • Monitor academic performance and attendance and encourage student-athletes to maintain eligibility and good standing.

  • Uphold and model district and school values.

  • Attend all scheduled games practices and coaching meetings.

  • Likely that all games occur on Saturdays

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience playing or coaching football preferably at the middle or high school level.

  • Knowledge of football techniques rules and safety protocols.

  • Strong communication leadership and organizational skills.

  • Ability to positively connect with middle school students from diverse backgrounds.

  • First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Ability to pass background check per district policy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching license.

  • Experience coaching at the middle school level.

  • Understanding of adolescent development and social-emotional learning.

Salary

Ranging from $1660 to $3816 based on position experience and years of coaching.
