JOB SUMMARY
The City of Sioux Falls is hiring a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator who is passionate about keeping our community and the environment this role youll work with a team at the largest wastewater treatment plant in South Dakota using hands-on skills and technology to make sure we comply with our discharge permit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or GED certification supplemented by two (2) years advanced or specialized education or vocational training or a minimum of two (2) years experience in the operation of a wastewater treatment facility; or any such combination of education experience and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.
Willing to work varied schedules and rotating shifts to accommodate a 24-hour-per-day 7-day-per-week operation.
Must possess a valid South Dakota Wastewater Operators Certificate within one year of hire.
Possession of a valid drivers license is desirable.

OUR COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS SUMMARY
Competitive salary with other public and industry positions including step advancements.
The City participates in the South Dakota Retirement System. Employees receive a 6% match. Additionally employees may choose to enroll in a Deferred Compensation Plan.
Health Dental and Vision Insurance: Competitive rates for single 2-party and family.
11 paid holidays and 2 personal leave days each calendar year.
New employees are granted 40 hours of vacation at time of hire and accrue an additional 2 weeks in their first year.
Sick leave accrues over 96 hours per year.
