Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global other words were the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers storage networking power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Youll join a diverse team of software hardware and network engineers supply chain specialists security experts operations managers and other vital roles. Youll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. The Regional Environmental Engineer (REE) will be responsible for environmental compliance at Amazon India Private Limited (ADSIPL) data centers in Hyderabad India. The REE will develop standards and policies to support regulatory compliance and provide environmental compliance guidance for regional operations and construction teams. The individual will complete environmental performance analysis establish and monitor metrics and guide the teams in implementation of Amazon environmental standards. The REE will work with internal and external partners that include government entities contractors consultants design construction operations and other key stakeholders. This position is based in the Telangana region and will require regular travel. Proficiency in speaking and writing English language is required.

The Regional Environmental Engineer must have excellent communication skills strong environmental regulatory knowledge particularly with respect to India and Telangana regulations and standards demonstrated success in program management and experience leading teams in complex and technical projects.


Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee compliance with local and federal environmental regulations and Amazon policy.
Develop regional strategic programs by integrating with engineering construction and operations. Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization.
Function as a leader regarding regulatory agency interactions permit evaluation and processing and new process and technology introduction
Ensure work performed by contractors consultants and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards.
Develop environmental metrics to measure monitor and forecast performance
Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement.
Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently.
Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company.
Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately.
Submit time critical reports to various governmental agencies
Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective actions

- Bachelor/ Masters degree in environmental science chemical or environmental engineering or related field of study. 10 years of serving as an environmental technical resource compliance specialist program specialist or program manager. Experience with regulatory assessments and managing environmental compliance related to areas such as air quality water quality waste management and hazardous materials
- Applied knowledge of federal state and local environmental laws regulations and standards related to areas such as air quality water quality waste management and hazardous materials.
- Proficiency in English and Telugu Language


- A builder - not a maintainer in Environmental Program management. Ability to follow the plan but dive into ambiguity to sort it out think big and apply solutions for long term improvement opportunities across a portfolio of projects.
- Use the data and anecdotes to support your efforts and operate to a Plan Do Check Act mentality.
- Experience working with software such as ENHESA Procore or Cority. Demonstrated understanding of environmental regulations for the jurisdiction.
