Job Description

Classification Title:

Clin Simulation Ops Specialist

Classification Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Description:

The Clinical Simulation Operations Specialist provides professional support for training and development programs for the benefit of individual or organizational performance. This position assists the Simulation Program with activities surrounding simulation/experiential learning events. Works closely with the Director of the Simulation Center and facilitators and Simulation Specialists to produce high quality education activities.

About This Role:

Simulation Operations

  • Operate and maintain simulation center equipment including A/V systems computers and high-fidelity simulators.
  • Set up realistic healthcare scenarios using props moulage and role-playing techniques.
  • Support faculty by prioritizing and running simulation sessions aligned with course objectives.
  • Train faculty and staff in the effective use of simulation technology.
  • Lead tours and facilitate simulation experiences for internal and external groups.
  • Collaborate on the development of new courses and training programs.
  • Stay current with simulation technology through ongoing education and professional development.
  • Coordinate scheduling for simulation and clinical skills labs.
  • Provide hands-on simulation support for students staff physicians and faculty.
  • Promote patient safety and drive quality outcomes through simulation-based education.
  • Monitor and ensure cost-effective use of resources and materials.
  • Assist in managing safety and risk within the simulation environment.
  • Collect and analyze data to support educational research and generate utilization reports.

Maintenance of Simulation Equipment

  • Maintenance of simulation equipment including preventative maintenance.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment needed for simulation.

Evaluations

  • Assists in evaluation training effectiveness and achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Assists in assessing training needs using surveys interviews focus groups or communications with leadership.

Expected Salary:

$61000 - $62500 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelors degree in technology or health-related field strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in instructing basic and/or advanced life support training.
  • Experience in simulation operations and training.
  • At least 1 year healthcare-based training experience can be hospital or EMS.
  • Flexibility in schedule a plus.
  • Licensure in a health-related field highly preferred.
  • Candidates with valid Basic Life Support card preferred.
  • Paramedic certification preferred
