Job Description:

OAOA Peer Mentors assist OAOA students with their academic social and personal development while at the College and provide general support for the Office. They are also responsible for fostering community and trust within the OAOA community. This position is an opportunity to build professional skills increase your engagement with the OAOA community and have a positive impact on your OAOA peers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

This position is a student employment position with up to 8 hours each week from August2025through May 2026.

As a Peer Mentor you will report directly to the CSTEP Coordinator. Your general responsibilities are as follows:

General office responsibilities: Maintain contact with OAOA studentsevent planning marketing and management compilation of program evaluations maintenance of office cleanliness and aesthetics.

Offer evening and weekend hours (schedules will vary) to allow OAOA students access to the program spaces outside of normal business hours.

Provide academic and socio-emotional support to all students. Foster a sense of community and trust among the office by modeling appropriate risk-taking and self-disclosure.

Create budgets for and facilitate Peer Mentor events to promote community-building and student development.

Adhere to strict confidentiality and privacy restraints regarding all students using campus or community based support services.

Exercise good judgement in representing OAOA and uphold institutional standards. Demonstrate respect for the staff and office policies and procedures. Maintain a flexible and positive attitude with OAOAs evolving environment.

Participate in peer mentor development (i.e. PM trainings 1:1 meetings with PM supervisor PM meetings etc.)

Other specific duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

OAOA Peer Mentors must be familiar with the programs and services offered by the Office of Access Opportunity and Achievement. Peer Mentors must demonstrate ability to connect with other students embrace growth and understanding of the role that OAOA programs play in our students lives.

Pay Rate: $15.50
