We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as a Model Shop Technician in the Model Shop focused on Innovation and new product development. The Model Shop Technician creates mock-ups models and fixtures to support and progress NPD projects. The successful applicant must possess a passion for problem-solving a willingness to work in a fast-paced production environment and an outstanding work ethic. Model Shop Technician must possess excellent craftsmanship and pay careful attention to detail and must also be open to growing with technological addition a great candidate must work well in a team setting be well-organized initiative-taking and flexible to any last-minute changes. This position is not open to remote work or flex hours.
What Youll Do
Serve as a key member of a cross-disciplinary technical team focused on modeling concepts and building prototype samples associated with MFTs Innovation and new product development pipeline.
Manage day-to-day activity in the Model Shop while maintaining a safe clean and organized workshop environment.
Participate in the development effort of multiple products simultaneously ensuring cost schedule and performance requirements are met.
Develop and build original proof-of-concept prototypes and test equipment to investigate interpret and execute development initiatives.
Resolve complex problems and analyze design concepts regarding manufacturing feasibility and related costs.
Investigate new technologies and techniques that could enhance our products competitiveness.
Skills/Experience Were Looking For
5 years of professional or skilled trade experience.
Proven ability to operate all shop equipment with a deep understanding of all safety procedures (CNC manual machining sheet metal and custom fabrication welding table saw bandsaw lathe milling machine etc.).
Knowledge of engineering principles and analytical thinking problem-solving and reasoning skills
Working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D conceptualization and component layout of new mechanical designs.
Ability to read drawings and understand tolerances.
Working knowledge and experience with injection molded plastics wood and metal forming for manufacturability.
Strong attention to detail coupled with an instinct for experimentation.
Ability to multi-task adapt and meet very tight deadlines.
Self-motivated and enjoys collaborative problem-solving.
Highly motivated individual with a passion for safety.

Pay Range:
