We are Hiring Board Certified Behavior Analysts at Peace Hospital!

Shift: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Fulltime

Peace Hospital part of UofL Health is a private non-profit behavioral health hospital. One of the largest behavioral health facilities in the nation Peace Hospital is known for providing care for children adolescents adults and senior adults age 55 and older. Our Kosair for Kids Childrens Peace Center is the largest and most comprehensive private provider of youth inpatient behavioral health services in the country treating children and adolescents with behavioral health and co-occurring disorders. We have a partial hospitalization program for school-aged children and an inpatient specialty program for children and adolescents who have complex treatment needs such as intellectual or developmental disabilities accompanied by acute behavioral and psychiatric symptoms. UofL Health is home to over 14000 team members 1000 providers 200 practice locations 9 hospitals and 4 medical centers.

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides behavioral services to patients admitted to our inpatient Innovations Program which serves children and adolescents with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) including Autism Traumatic Brain Injury Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and other diagnoses.

Essential Functions:

  • Completes functional assessment of behaviors in patients; collects records and summarizes data on observable patient behavior
  • Develops and implements individualized function-based behavior plans based on results of functional assessment models the implementation of plan and trains team members as needed; reviews patient progress and modifies interventions based on data
  • Develops refines provides leadership for and trains general program protocols (e.g. level system data collection unit schedule reinforcement procedures crisis intervention)
  • Provides training to direct care staff Registered Nurses family members and other caregivers involved in the patients treatment
  • Provides direct behavior therapy and active treatment programming on an individual and/or group basis including proactive strategies and crisis intervention and models programming for all team members
  • Collaborates with treatment team including patient parents caregivers guardians outside professionals MDs RNs therapists and co-workers
  • Assists with maintaining a structured milieu and general programming on the unit
  • Effectively communicates with parents caregivers guardians outside agencies and other treatment providers regarding patient progress
  • Participates in special projects and appointments to hospital committees as appropriate

Other Functions:

  • Ensures that information is documented in medical records as needed and required
  • Maintains compliance with all company policies procedures and standards of conduct
  • Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Job Description:

Education:

  • Masters Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis education or psychology (required)

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in human services (preferred)

Licensure:

  • Current license as a Behavior Analyst in Kentucky or obtained within four (4) months of hire (required)

Certification:

  • Board Certification Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)

Job Competency:

Knowledge Skills and Abilities critical to this role:

  • Able to complete Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training and perform CPI techniques
  • Strong knowledge of and demonstrated skill in providing direct individual or group therapeutic services with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Able to critically think through complex patient situations and use evidence-based practice
  • Works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and supports efforts of all team members

Language Ability:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to break down problems or tasks; using prior knowledge and experience to identify causes and consequences of events

Computer Skills:

  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office (Word Excel)
