Grinding Machine Operator
Location: Aldershot Surrey
Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent (Afternoon/Evening Shift)
Working Hours: Monday Thursday 14:45 00:00
Salary: 16.00 17.50 per hour 20% shift premium

Due to continued growth and investment the company is looking for an experienced Grinding Machine Operator to join its skilled production team on the afternoon/evening shift.
Job Profile
The Grinding Machine Operator will operate and set up grinding machines to produce high-quality conforming components. This hands-on role involves preparing machines inspecting finished parts and ensuring all products meet strict specifications. The position suits individuals with a strong background in manufacturing high attention to detail and confidence using inspection tools and equipment.
Key Responsibilities / Duties
- Set up and operate grinding machines as per product specifications.
- Adjust and change machine settings and tooling for each job in a timely manner.
- Grind deburr and polish components to meet shape finish and dimensional requirements.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings accurately.
- Monitor and adjust machine parameters as needed to ensure quality and output targets are achieved.
- Use inspection tools such as micrometers and verniers to check component dimensions and complete validation sheets.
- Perform in-process inspections to maintain consistent production quality.
- Run multiple machines simultaneously where applicable based on job requirements.
- Record production data and report any deviations or issues to supervisors promptly.
- Support colleagues across the department to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Follow company quality procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and complete required training.
Requirements / Skills
Essential:
- 35 years experience in a similar machining or manufacturing role.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Proficient in the use of measurement equipment such as micrometers and verniers.
- Strong mathematical and technical skills.
- Familiarity with systematic problem-solving techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented with a proactive attitude.
- Adaptable and willing to learn new processes.
