The Role
Knak is looking for a candidate to help us with the financial operations of the business. The successful candidate will be independently responsible for ensuring that the Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Payroll and Month End closing operations run smoothly with support from the broader accounting and finance team.
This candidate will help maintain Knaks records and assist in the month quarter and yearly reporting exercises. The candidate will also have a critical role to look for opportunities to automate tasks in the Financial Operations of the company to align with the rapid growth of the organization. They will help us allocate our capital in the most efficient but fiscally responsible way. The candidate will also be keen on process optimization to help the company strive for greater efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable / Bookkeeping:
- Recording vendor invoices error free
- Maintaining current vendor Accounts Payable balances
- Processing employee expense reimbursements
- Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations (capital assets prepaids deferred revenue commissions accrued liabilities etc.)
- Accounts Receivable:
- Drafting invoice estimates
- Following up with customers on overdue balances
- Ensuring payments are applied to the correct account
- Payroll:
- Preparing semi-monthly payroll
- Reconciling taxable benefits schedule
- Onboarding new hires into payroll system
- Reporting:
- Collaborating with team to ensure month end is closed within 5-business days
- Assisting with preparation of annual audit
What you should have:
- Attention to detail
- Time management skills
- Organization and planning
- Communication skills
- Ability to adopt a broad range of software tools
- Experience with Quickbooks Online is considered an asset
- 1-2 years of accounting experience
