The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site which would have a storage capacity of 250000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Position
The Construction Coordinator is an integral part of Woodfibre LNGs dynamic team. You will provide a critical role responsible for overseeing and managing the mechanical aspects of the EPC contractors construction process in a facility that produces and processes LNG. Your role would be critical in ensuring that all mechanical systems and equipment are installed operated maintained safely and efficiently and proper handover is accomplished including interface with the Owner operations team. Effective leadership technical expertise and a commitment to safety and quality are essential for excelling in this position. The successful candidate reports to the Area Construction Manager and Site Construction Manager and will play an essential part in supporting the companys engineering and senior management team through the construction phase of the project.

The successful applicant will:
Supervising Team: You would oversee and participate in a team of technicians and specialists reviewing contractor ITPS planning testing and installation programs for construction initiating RFIs/NCRs and possibly pre-commissioning and commissioning. Your role involves delegating tasks coordinating work schedules and providing guidance to ensure the teams efficiency and productivity in support of the contractor installation plans.
Provide input and monitoring with team construction managers to develop a comprehensive plan for the mechanical construction phase. This includes scheduling and resource allocation for daily and weekly planning to attain schedule milestones.
Provide input and monitoring with team construction managers to support project control team in evaluating cost related to the mechanical construction phase including providing input and support into the Change Management program.
Oversee the installation of mechanical equipment and systems such as compressors turbines pumps heat exchangers and pipelines. Participate and plan inspections of EPC Contractor work packages to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
Prioritize and enforce safety protocols and practices to protect workers and the environment. Conduct safety meetings inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Implement and support quality control measures and the owners quality team to ensure that all mechanical work meets the required standards and specifications. Address any non-conformances and work with the quality team to resolve issues.
Supervise and lead a team of mechanical technicians and workers. Provide guidance training and support to enhance their skills and efficiency.
Support contractor identification and troubleshooting of mechanical issues that may arise during the construction process. Develop effective solutions to prevent delays and setbacks.
Collaborate with other supervisors such as electrical and civil supervisors to ensure smooth integration and functioning of all systems.
Ensure control and turnover of accurate records of construction progress equipment inspections and safety incidents. Prepare reports for management and stakeholders.
Potentially participate in the commissioning and start-up of mechanical systems. Ensure proper testing calibration and functioning of all equipment.
Monitor expenses related to mechanical construction activities ensuring they stay within budget constraints.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations during the construction process especially when dealing with hazardous materials spills and emissions.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in mechanical construction processes.
