While there may not be an immediate need for a lecturer in every area UW-Stevens Point (UWSP) accepts applications regardless in order to create a pool for when there may be a need. Upon successful submission of your application you will be considered for future part-time or full-time lecturer opportunities and your application will be on file as a potential candidate who could possibly fill a position if or when the need arises. Lecturers are hired on a per-course basis each semester and teaching one semester does not guarantee being assigned the following semester. The teaching hours for a lecturer will vary with a teaching load ranging between 1-12 credits per semester.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Facilitates classroom online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses including assessment of student performance

• Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction

• Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations

The College of Fine Arts & Communication (COFAC) consists of three units that include both liberal arts and professional degree programs: The School of Design & Communication (Art/Art History Graphic Design Interior Architecture Media Studies Pre-Art Therapy and Professional Communication); The School of Performing Arts including the Department of Music (Jazz Studies Music Education Music Performance) and the Department of Theatre & Dance (Acting Arts Management Dance Drama Musical Theatre and Theatre Design and Technology); and the Suzuki Programs (The Aber Suzuki Center and the American Suzuki Institute) with approximately seventy faculty and staff and twenty degree programs minors and certificates. UW-Stevens Point has a long history of distinguished programs in the arts and communication fields and is the only institution in the state in which all fine and performing arts programs are nationally accredited: Art & Design (NASAD and CIDA) Dance (NASD) Music (NASM) and Theatre (NAST). The college provides between 350-400 educational and cultural events for the campus and a broader community each year and is an active community partner.
