Travel to area high schools on a recurring assigned schedule to support dual credit students teachers counselors and other school staff in the dual credit registration process. The caseload will be throughout the six counties of the Columbus Service Area: Bartholomew Decatur Jackson Jennings Johnson and Shelby counties.
Provide advising to dual credit and dual enrollment students regarding current Ivy Tech course grades and progress towards an Ivy Tech credential.
Meet with or correspond with students and/or parents interested in Ivy Tech dual credit or dual enrollment opportunities including special initiatives (while abiding by FERPA guidelines).
Build relationships with dual credit students teachers counselors and other school staff at area high schools and serve as a source of knowledge and representative for Ivy Tech.
Provide guidance for high school students and parents on course options degree options and the application and registration process for dual credit/enrollment classes.
Provide advising and registration support for homeschool students and families.
Utilize Degree Completion Tracker to audit students degree progress and develop academic plans to show students their trajectory to complete a credential through Ivy Tech.
Advise and aid high schools in planning and sequencing appropriate dual credit offerings based on high school course offerings.
Maintain an understanding of the credentialing requirements to teach dual credit and facilitate communication between the high schools and Ivy Tech program chairs/deans throughout the credentialing process for potential dual credit instructors.
Complement services that may be available through high school college or the community including college exploration services admissions processes financial aid and scholarship resources.
Utilize community resources that support student access and success in college.
Coach students on the transitions from high school to Ivy Tech.
Maintain academic records in compliance with College and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Provide support to program chairs deans and dual credit instructors in navigating and completing tasks in (e.g. submitting course syllabi processing registration issues etc.).
Provide support in tracking required annual professional development completion for dual credit instructors.
Provide support in upholding accreditation standards set forth by the dual credit accrediting body (National Association of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships).
Participate fully in all school activities targeted to students and parents logically associated with the college process including freshman orientation freshman student/parent nights career days FAFSA workshops for parents and all other related programs.
Communicate closely and regularly with the school counseling staff at the high schools.
Conduct all activities at the school within the guidelines of the respective school and state law.
Attend Ivy Tech on campus programs dual credit/enrollment events and other programs logically associated with the Coachs role.
Must stay current with Ivy Tech academic programs and resources admission and registration processes career and higher education trends requirements and expectations of the Indiana Department of Education Office of Career and Technical Education and Commission for Higher Education.
Attend Ivy Tech meetings training sessions and other activities as necessary.
Serve on committees as assigned.
Salary Range: $38000-$43000

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree and one to three years related work experience required.
Must demonstrate excellent communication and team building skills the ability to be decisive work autonomously and provide leadership in a community college setting.
Must have the ability to work well with persons from various social ethnic and economic backgrounds.
Must be adaptable to a variety of work environments within the school partnerships.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage complex partnerships and issues.
Knowledge of computer applications and familiarity with computerized records systems required.
Exceptional organizational and record-keeping skills.
Passion for seeing students succeed.
Valid drivers license as the position requires travel throughout the Columbus Service Area.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in education counseling student personnel management or a related field preferred.
Experience in teaching counseling advising case management or Individual Academic Plan development preferred.
Three to five years experience in educational programming serving diverse student populations (preferably secondary and/or postsecondary public institutions) preferred.
