Job Description

Production Assistant (Penguin General)

A great new opportunity has arisen for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join the Penguin General Production team as a Production Assistant.

Penguin General publish a broad range of books from prize-winning novelists and top 10 bestsellers in many genres including lifestyle business history crime literary and popular fiction with a wide range of authors from Richard Osman Barack & Michelle Obama Bernardine Evaristo Kiran Desai and Paul Murray to Emily Henry Dolly Alderton Yael Van Der Wouden and Meera Sodha.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the Penguin General backlist catalogue focusing on books that are no longer new releases.
  • Oversee the production of titles transitioning from hardback to paperback.
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues and external suppliers to deliver reprints reissues and non-trade deals within budget on schedule and to a high quality.
  • Handle all aspects of production including estimating scheduling quality checking and managing content updates for both print and eBooks.
  • Utilise strong IT skills to ensure the success of the role.

Salary

27500 plus benefits.

For this role we expect the successful candidate to work from our London-based office a minimum of three days per week and offer the remaining two days to be worked remotely.
