High Point University is currently seeking a full-time exempt Coordinator of University Events. The Coordinator of University Events independently plans executes and manages the High Point University Cultural Enrichment Program creates Student engagement experiences manages Student employment and Internships for the department responsible for University Events budget and invoicing and some aspects of other events as assigned by the Vice President and Assistant Vice President for University Events. This position assists the Assistant Vice President for University Events in planning and implementing major University events.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree required
Experience and Training:
A minimum of two years of related experience an equivalent combination of education and experience or five years of work experience in a directly related capacity.

Essential Functions:
- Oversees planning marketing and event execution for the High Point University Cultural Enrichment Program including but not limited to concerts guest speakers theatre events and choral events.
- Coordinates travel and accommodation logistics for speakers and visiting guests related to University Events.
- Recruit train and manage Student employees for the department.
- Administration responsibilities including but not limited to invoicing billing maintaining budgets ordering supplies and executing vendor contracts.
- Assists with planning and implementing major University events such as Commencement opening Convocation Family weekends dinners donor lunches cultural events special events for the office of the President groundbreakings dedications board of trustee meetings etc.
- Works closely with staff of the Office of Communication Presidents Office Institutional Advancement Admissions and other appropriate offices to plan coordinate and implement such events
- Handles multiple projects simultaneously; manages in the midst of occasional changing dynamics (time location people etc.); effectively communicates and interacts with high profile individuals (administration trustees donors university guests VIPs etc.)
- Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students students parents faculty co-workers and managers
- Maintains a professional image by following dress code
- Other duties as assigned
