Job Title: Powered Access Engineer Field based

Salary: 40K PA

Location: North West area - Manchester East West Cheshire Liverpool Preston

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect & maintain powered access equipment (e.g. scissor lifts vehicle-mounted platforms boom lifts) routinely and before delivery (PDI)
  • Diagnose faults including mechanical hydraulic electrical and structural issues using diagnostic tools and inspections
  • Repair refurbish or overhaul equipment replacing parts as needed and testing to ensure operational safety and performance
  • Manage service paperwork: record job sheets parts used completion status; liaise with parts and service departments
  • Customer/Site interaction: perform on-site service communicate effectively with clients or depot managers

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Mechanical hydraulic and electrical aptitude: experience with fault-finding wiring hydraulics diagnostics
  • Relevant vocational qualifications: e.g. NVQ Level3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Full UK driving license is essential
  • Good communication & customer service skills ability to work under own initiative or within a team
  • Previous experience working on powered access or plant equipment ideally in rental hire or field service contexts
