Were looking for an Electronic Technician Advanced to join our staff at the Department of Corrections - This positionmaintains and repair all makes and types of office machines electronic and mechanical equipment electronic communications television (TV) systems and mobile communications equipment.Why work for DOC

Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of experience or training in the maintenance or repair of mechanical or electronic office equipment precision machinery or electronic/electrical systems; OR
Three years of experience or training in the installation repair or maintenance of computer equipment or systems (hardware and/or software); OR
Possession of a CompTIA A Certification plus one of the following:
1. Two years of experience in the maintenance or repair of mechanical or electronic office equipment precision machinery or electronic/electrical systems; OR
2. Two years of experience in the installation repair or maintenance of computer equipment or systems (hardware and/or software).
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every six semester hours earned from an accredited college or university in electronics or computer science will substitute for one year of the required experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess an appropriate Federal Communications Commission (FCC) radio-telephone license when working with marine and aviation transmitting equipment or with radar. Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Reviews work and provide guidance to lower-level Electronic Technicians on projects.
Read and interprets complex electric and electronic schematics and mechanical layouts during diagnosis and repair of electronic equipment.
Installs updates and expands components and systems and recommends corrections etc.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotion of a permanent classified employee of Louisiana State Government- Current permanent status classified state employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
- An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
- This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment should a permanent position become available the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
