Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warehouse Head to lead our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate receipt storage and shipment of goods in our warehouse. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership communication and organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise warehouse staff including training scheduling and performance management.
Oversee the receipt inspection and verification of incoming shipments against purchase orders and inventory records.
Develop and implement efficient processes for stocking and organizing inventory in designated areas of the warehouse.
Establish and maintain procedures for conducting regular inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
Analyze and resolve discrepancies in inventory or shipping implementing corrective actions as needed.
Coordinate the preparation and processing of shipments for delivery including packing labeling and documentation.
Manage the processing of returns damaged goods and defective products ensuring timely and accurate handling.
Maintain a clean safe and organized warehouse environment ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
Oversee the operation and maintenance of forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
Collaborate with other departments such as procurement logistics and customer service to ensure smooth warehouse operations and timely delivery of goods.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to optimize warehouse efficiency and productivity.
Monitor and analyze warehouse performance metrics such as inventory accuracy order fulfillment rates and shipping times and implement strategies to achieve targets.
Manage special projects and tasks as assigned by management.
A minimum bachelors degree in logistics supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
8 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution setting with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Proven ability to lead and manage a team including training performance management and conflict resolution.
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately count and record inventory.
Excellent communication interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Thorough knowledge of warehouse operations procedures and best practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities.
Proficiency in computerized inventory management systems and warehouse
management systems (WMS).
Familiarity with safety regulations and OSHA standards.
Certification in forklift operation is a plus.
