KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA is seeking a Pre-Breeder for Oilseed Rape breeding. In this role you will work as part of an international team of plant breeders and scientists.
This diverse position is initially limited to one year as part of a maternity leave replacement and is to be filled on a full-time basis. The workplace is located at the companys headquarters in Einbeck Lower Saxony.

Your responsibilities in this role:
- Implementation and improvement of oilseed rape pre-breeding programs especially regarding resistance to insect pests and diseases
- Establishment design and evaluation of field and greenhouse trials
- Application and evaluation of molecular markers in pre-breeding programs
- Process optimization in breeding programs
- Participation in external and internal research projects
Bring in your strengths:
- Completed studies in the field of plant breeding or biology
- Solid knowledge in plant breeding and plant pathology
- Good knowledge of quantitative genetics and statistics
- Strong teamwork skills and a high sense of responsibility
- Fluency in English language. German and/or French knowledge is advantageous
- Willingness to undertake national and international travel (approx. 25%)
