The SM1 Gas Plant I&E technician is responsible for the upkeep of instrumentation at the plant facility including valves transmitters PLCs analyzers etc including troubleshooting repair testing project management and preventative maintenance.
Work to achieve zero personal first aids/injuries.
Comply with all Air Liquide Policies & Procedures.
Comply with Safe Work Permit Process including preparing Pre-Job Plans executing LOTOs hot work safety and confined space safety.
Managing preventative maintenance for site instrumentation such as calibrations including maintaining records in the CMMS program.
Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation equipment including taking corrective and preventative actions to improve plant or machine performance.
Read and interpret instruments schematics.
Repair and maintain various analytical instrumentation and support equipment such as PDHID RGD and FID detectors and various real time gas analyzers.
Manage instrumentation projects from project scoping to implementation including preparing scope of work bidding out projects to contractors scheduling and overseeing contractor quality of work.
Establish and maintain an analytical & instrumentation inventory tracking program
Exhibit instrumentation and mechanical aptitude
Read and interpret blueprints flow charts process piping ISOs simple schematics P&IDs electrical schematics controls documentation; perform basic math operations.
Write and redline standard operating procedures
Keep accurate records and be diligent in documentation and record retention policies.
Demonstrate proficient knowledge of control board and operator interface computer consoles.
Participate in plant outages
Maintain and expect high housekeeping and organizational standards.
Assist other maintenance crafts as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Management
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required; Technical Associates degree preferred
6 years of technical training and/or operations experience combined.
Familiar with terminology and technical knowledge of equipment such as transmitters PLCs analyzers and valves. Gas Chromatography a plus
Familiar with safe work practices safety procedures and other safety requirements.
Ability to draw and read electrical and PLC diagrams.
Ability to work callouts nights weekends & possible holidays
Able to safely work on electrical equipment up to 480V.
Valid Drivers License
Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants (Process Safety Management EPA regulations FDA regulations state/local regulations).
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including hardhat safety glasses safety shoes/boots and FRC clothing
Full range of motion; ability to lift 50 lbs.
Able to climb ladders work off elevated platforms/surfaces
Able to work in non-conditioned environment for extended periods
Able to enter confined spaces for inspection testing and work
The hourly range for this position in Texas is $35.00-$40.00
