Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is located at RBC AeroStructures a division of RBC bearings. RBC AeroStructures is a leading manufacturer of structural and flight control assemblies for the military and commercial aerospace industry. RBC AeroStructures serves most major military and commercial aerospace platforms. This position will be responsible for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and support processes and will report directly to the Quality Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualify and perform as a Level II NDT Inspector in Liquid Penetrant inspection and Magnetic Particle inspection (Qualification includes classroom training on-the-job training and written exams and the process takes approximately six months to complete)

Comprehend and apply all applicable customer and aerospace industry requirements including specifications i.e. NAS 410 and other pertinent documented information.

Develop and approve NDT technique sheets

Scrap and rework reduction and continuous improvement projects

Become Responsible Level III for NDT and act on behalf of the company

Be involved with and lead audit activities including NADCAP

Assist in resolving any customer issues or complaints

Perform root cause corrective actions as necessary

Complete other Quality assignments as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to stand walk (on concrete surfaces) bend kneel crouch twist sit and lift to perform repetitive movements

Must be able to lift/push/pull objects up to 35 pounds heavier objects require assistance

Ability to adhere to safety policies and follow all procedures

Ability to work well with others and team

Meet inspector requirements for vision acuity

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency with computers various software programs spreadsheets and formulas

Work overtime as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree in Material Science or Mechanical Engineering

Previous training experience or coursework in non-destructive testing or metallurgy are a plus
