Job Summary:

  • Operate the computerized cash register computerized ticket programming and process credit card sales as required.
  • Receive and place phone calls for the University Information and Ticket Office
  • Work on an assigned special areas as needed/requested
  • Process Ticket Orders for walk up customers by phone
  • Update customer ticket accounts
  • Assist the University Information and Ticket Office Manager and the University Information and Ticket Office Student Manager as well as the Ticket Specialist on special tasks as needed
  • Keep in contact with the University Information and Ticket Office Student Manager on all work related matters
  • Perform opening and closing duties proficiently
  • Perform various services and items including vending refunds check cashing services trip sign-ups and change funds / usher requests
  • Greet and assist visitors at the University Information and Ticket Office
  • Be familiar with Emergency Procedures
  • Be familiar with the University Information and Ticket Office staff manual and the policies and procedures therein
  • Interact with other campus and Centers offices in various aspects of the job
  • Act as a referral agent to other campus sources for information
  • Attend bi-weekly staff meetings
  • Good math skills required
  • Be held accountable and abide to the policies outlined in the University Centers Student Employment Handbook and any department specific policies procedures and expectations

Compensation

$12.50/hour

The University Centers Student Employment Program Wage Classification Scale classifies this position as Division I Range I.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must be available to work between 515 hours per week during the semester and attend staff meetings and events as necessary including seven (7) 59-hour weekend shifts.

Students applying for this position must pass a Criminal Background Check initiated by the University Centers.

Successful applicants must complete mandatory Payment Card Industry (PCI) Compliance Training within 8 weeks of beginning employment. PCI training will be provided by the University Centers and must be kept up to date throughout employment with the University Centers.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants should possess a thorough awareness of campus offerings a general knowledge of University policies knowledge of campus layout and locations and functions of offices.

Proper telephone etiquette cash register experience and knowledge of office skills are preferred. Having a means of transportation is a plus due to offsite ticket sale operations that arise throughout the year.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with at least two semesters remaining at UWSP.

Education

The Front Desk Staff must be at least a part-time student (enrolled in a minimum of 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits) and be in good academic standing (cumulative and semester GPAs of 2.0 or higher) at the time of hiring and throughout employment.
