CBS19 is searching for a Main Evening Anchor/Executive Producer who will solo anchor our 5 p.m. newscast and co-anchor our 10 p.m. newscast while also serving as a key newsroom leader overseeing the editorial direction and production of all dayparts morning early evening and prime time.

Responsibilities:
What Youll Do
As a newsroom leader:

  • Supervise and support producers and show execution across morning early evening and late news
  • Shape rundowns that are urgent informative and viewer-focused
  • Mentor producers reporters and anchors in writing show flow and editorial judgment
  • Lead breaking news strategy across platforms broadcast digital and streaming
  • Champion community-focused stories that reflect the diversity and heartbeat of East Texas

As an anchor and storyteller:

  • Solo anchor the 5 p.m. newscast with confidence and credibility
  • Co-anchor the 10 p.m. newscast contributing to planning content strategy and tone
  • Write and edit for broadcast digital and social platforms
  • Help craft stories that stand out with strong visuals emotion and depth
  • Engage with viewers on social media and in the community

Requirements:

What You Bring

  • Minimum 3 years of anchoring experience preferably in local news
  • Strong editorial judgment and clear communication skills
  • Ability to coach mentor and collaborate with producers and reporters
  • Experience producing or assisting in show planning and structure
  • Confidence in live unscripted situations especially breaking news
  • Familiarity with ENPS and Edius systems (preferred)
  • Deep interest in serving and uplifting East Texas communities
  • Solid understanding of digital and social platforms for content creation and engagement

Extra Credit If You:

  • Have previous experience leading a team or managing show content
  • Bring fresh innovative ideas to linear and digital storytelling
  • Have a strong on-camera presence and comfort engaging with diverse audiences
  • Have roots in or a passion for East Texas
  • This is a full-time leadership-track role with competitive pay and benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience.
