Our Permanent Supported Housing (PSH) Program is looking for a passionate Peer Support Specialist:
ShelterCare is a non-profit that believes in housing first we meet people where they are. The PSH program helps unhoused individuals experiencing mental health disabilites find and maintain housing while gaining their independece. The Peer Support Specialist will be assisting program participants in identifying their personal interests goals strengths/weaknesses skils resources and supports they will need to maintain housing and increase their independence. This position will also provide a model for both participant and other staff by demonstrating that recovery is possible; maintaing service logs reports records and notes according to agency guidelines.

The Peer Support Specialist is a full-time non-exempt position that will report to the PSH Asst. Program Manager. The starting hourly wage for this position is $21.15 - $22.00 per hour; depending on a number of factors.
QUALIFICATIONS
A degree in social work or a related field or the equivalence in years of experience. Experience with working with people who have been homeless and/or have mental health needs is preferred; Credentials: Must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist and Registered with Mental Health & Addictive Certification Board of Oregon.

ShelterCare is a social services agency that is directed by a board of community volunteers. We have multiple programs in the Eugene/Springfield area. We offer a range of housing solutions combined with wraparound services for families and community members who are experiencing homelessness on the verge of becoming homeless and have a serious mental illness. Because of the variety of services we offer we are able to help many people in our community.
