Position Summary: Were seeking a Software Engineer to develop API integrations and control software for automated printing packaging and mailing systems. Youll build real-time applications that connect databases vision systems and production equipment in high-volume manufacturing environments. This role is critical for connecting disparate manufacturing systems and ensuring seamless automation in fast-paced production environments.
This role is critical for ensuring seamless automation across multiple platforms and production lines. Youll work directly with cross-functional teams including mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate complex systems and maintain high performance under demanding conditions.
This is a hands-on on-site position located in a manufacturing and industrial settingnot a remote or traditional office software development role.
Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop C#/.NET applications for print automation and workflow control
- Build GUI interfaces for machine operation and database interaction
- Implement automation workflows: scan-verify real-time printing OCR validation duplex printing
- Integrate RFID/NFC barcode scanning and vision systems
- Create API connections between production equipment and business systems
- Deploy and troubleshoot systems on-site and remotely
- Document integrations and provide technical support
Required Qualifications: - Proficiency in C# .NET Framework WPF SQL and MVVM architecture
- Bachelors degree in software/computer engineering or equivalent experience
- 4 years experience in industrial automation or machine control software
- Experience with barcode/OCR systems and real-time hardware interfacing
- Knowledge of printing workflows and automation tools
Preferred Skills: - USPS mailing regulations and standards (IMb automation rules)
- Variable data printing (VDP) and digital print production
- ERP/MIS system integration
- Packaging line equipment integration
- PDF RIP engines and prepress software experience
