Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the organizations financial records including balance sheet reconciliations journal entries and bank reconciliations. This entry-level role requires a bachelors degree in accounting or a related field. Key duties also include managing month-end closing procedures assisting with external audits and preparing tax forms. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and organizational skills an understanding of GAAP and proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform general accounting and other related duties for the organization.
  • Prepare and maintain assigned monthly balance sheet reconciliations which could include cash receivables payables accruals prepaids fixed assets deferred costs deferred revenue etc.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Maintain assigned financial reports records and general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Reconcile bank accounts daily finalizing monthly; verifying bank transactions are posted timely completely and accurately.
  • Perform detailed daily job cost review to ensure jobs are closed accurately timely and are properly supported by required documents.
  • Meet processing and reporting deadlines for month-end quarter-end and year-end closing procedures assigned.
  • Perform analysis and review of assigned monthly financial statement Flux items to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Provide external auditors with assistance as requested by management; gathering necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Prepare tax forms and/or compile data provided to external tax preparers as assigned.
  • Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum a Bachelors degree in Accounting or relative field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong critical thinking analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office especially Excel and other accounting applications.

Annual compensation range: $65K to $ is determined based on competitive market data experience skillset and geographical location.
